Hospital Dentistry
Some patients, whether because of medical problems or extreme fear, need a special setting outside the dental office to have treatment. The hospital operating room (OR) is that setting. Occasionaly, an adult or child patient will need general anesthetic or IV sedation. Because of the increased risk associated with these procedures, a hospital setting with an anesthesiologist is necessary. Only 0.5% of the family dentists in the United States are on hospital staff. We are one of them. The dentistry is still the same high quality dentistry as in the office, only performed in the hospital OR.
